She was born Saturday, March 13, 1915, to Henry and Fern (Jacobs) Knuth in Wapello County near Ottumwa, Iowa. She married Louie D. Miller on May 9, 1935. They farmed and raised three sons, Don, Max and Glen. Louie died in 1961 and Dorotha moved to Ottumwa to attend Iowa Success Business College. She married Reiner Bartman in 1963 and moved to Lansing, Ill., where she worked with her husband in his insurance office. In 1980, they moved back to Fremont, Iowa. Reiner died in 1987. In 1993, Dorotha married David Johnson, and after his death in 2007, she lived in Fremont for a number of years before moving to Cedar Rapids to be closer to family.

Dorotha was a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church. Most of all, she lived her faith by loving others.
She will be greatly missed.
