Bauer, William W. 'Bill'
William W. “Bill” Bauer, 83, a resident of Three Lakes, Wis., since 1983 and a former resident of Milwaukee, Wis., died Dec. 31, 2010, at his home. Private services for Bill were already held.
He was born June 23, 1927, to William and Hazel Marie Bauer, in Milwaukee, Wis. Bill served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater and was a 60-year member of Three Lakes American Legion Post 431. He attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison and was in the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He married Nancy Ward in 1950. Bill worked for PPG industries for 35 years.
He enjoyed musky fishing and living life “his way.”
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kerry; and his parents.
Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy Bauer of Three Lakes, Wis.; son, Ward (Connie) Bauer of Minneapolis; daughter, Wendy (Eric) Carter of Rhinelander, Wis.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his sister, Beth McManus of Eugene, Ore.
