Burmeister, Blanche L.
Blanche L. Burmeister, 95, of Lowden, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lowden, by the Rev. Victor Young. Burial: church cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence.
Survivors include sons, Carlin and LeRoy of Lowden; daughter, Carlene (Joel) Kohlhoff of Corning; son, LaMoyne (Sally) of Clarence; grandsons, Jason (Jenn) Burmeister and Zach Kohlhoff; and great-granddaughter, Emma Burmeister.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman; brother, Herb Rixe; and sister, Bessie Schloemer.
Born March 22, 1914, in rural Bennett, the daughter of Otto and Mary (Beuthien) Rixe, she married Norman Burmeister on July 29, 1945, in Bennett. He died March 14, 2000.
Blanche was a graduate of Bennett High School. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a former member of the Lowden Legion Auxiliary. She was a homemaker and loved sewing and quilting.
