Ed was born Jan. 23, 1930, in Muscatine, Iowa, to Henry E. and Nellie V. (Brown) Lange. He married Rita C. Voss on Jan. 16, 1954, at St. Matthias Church in Muscatine.
Survivors include his wife, Rita; daughters, Mary Feaker (Tim), Julie Calvert (Steve) and Jennifer Lange; grandchildren, Tyson Damisch and Cole and Cassie Calvert; great-grandchildren, Sienna, Austin and Jackson Damisch; brother, Jerry; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and beloved brother, Don.
Ed graduated from Muscatine High School in 1948 and served in the Iowa National Guard until 1954. He worked for 42 years at Iowa Electric Light and Power Co. (Alliant Energy) and retired in 1992 as manager of gas operations.
Ed had a keen sense of humor and was an excellent dancer. He enjoyed swimming, camping, and boating on his pontoon boat at Sugar Bottom Campground. He vacationed as much as possible in Florida, and after retirement, he and his wife (and dogs Honey and Molly) spent five months each year camping in the Florida Keys.
Ed loved his family, his dogs, and telling a good joke; he'll be greatly missed.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of Iowa or Hospice of Mercy.
His family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at MeadowView Memory Care Village and to Hospice of Mercy for the exceptional care and compassion they showed to Ed and to his family.
