Agnesrose (Whalen) Gradoville, 92, passed from this life peacefully Sunday, June 22, 2014, at North-brook Manor Care Center.
Ag, an only child, was born Nov. 25, 1921, to her Irish parents in Des Moines, Iowa. She married Charles Gradoville on Jan. 22, 1944, in Des Moines, and they raised 10 children, in their more than 70 years of marriage.
Ag was preceded in death by her parents, Charles (1931) and Teresa (1959) Whalen; and sons, Chuck (1967) and John (2011).
Surviving are her husband, Charley; and children, Bob (Lyn), New Haven, Conn., Mike (Ellen), Boardman, Ohio, Jim (Xiao Xia), Beijing, China, Mary (Berry), Ankeny, Denny (Connie), Lacey, Wash., Rich (Sandy), Johnston, Bernie (Kathleen), Des Moines, and Brian, Cedar Rapids; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Ag's compassionate heart led her to a life of service to others. She served on many committees at All Saints Parish, was on the founding committee for Green Square Meals and
truly loved to serve anyone in need, especially her
family.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, with a rosary service at 4 p.m. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 27, All Saints Catholic Church, with burial at Mount Cal-vary to follow.
Memorials can be made to All Saints Parish or Green Square Meals.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Meadowview Memory Care Village, Northbrook Manor and Above & Beyond Hospice for their tender service and care.
