A new Eastern Iowa business plans to tap the small but growing market for geothermal heating and cooling.
Geothermal Eco Options Inc., which opened Aug. 8, specializes in the drilling and installation of geothermal loops for geothermal heating and cooling systems. Geothermal systems can save customers 30 percent to 70 percent on monthly utility bills, the company said in a statement.
Geothermal Eco Options will focus on residential customers, who may be able to benefit from a 30 percent federal tax credit and energy efficiency incentives offered by states and utilities. The business, owned by Brian Stockman, Larry Leliefeld and Frederic "Reed" Carlson, will employ 10 people. It is located at 407 Second Ave. SW, Cresco. It can be reached at 563-382-0300.
