Ying Vang, 78, of Marengo, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, at Rose Haven Nursing Home.
Funeral Service: 1 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 9, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, with Celebrant Robert Dugger. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A private family burial will be at a later date. A memorial fund in his name has been established.
Ying is survived by his children, Feuang Kavanh (Mine) of Marengo, Theuang Vang of Fort Worth, Texas, Thing Vongvilay (Savany) of Marengo, Bouaphanh Sayachak (Jack) of Euless, Texas, Phairot Hoang (Phomsamay) of Joliet, Ill., Angie Luong (Anthony) of West Des Moines, Sengdao Vanlo (Por) of Iowa City, Vinai Vang (Jennifer) of Solon, and Lokhoy Brecht (Joel) of Marengo; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two nephews, Kong Vang and Tai Vang; and a niece, Yeng Lovan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nan; his parents; and a son, Tim Vang in 2010.
