Tharp, Arlene R.
Arlene R. Tharp, 69, resident of Village Place in Marion, died Monday, March 14, 2011, at Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion. Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Thursday, March 17, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Family will greet friends one hour before the service. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Survivors include her mother, Ruth Tharp of Marion; brother, Douglas Tharp of Greenville, N.C.; sister, Cheryl Tharp of Robins; nieces and nephews, Jon Trimble III of Marion, Casie Trimble of New Vienna, Mark Tharp of California, and Jason Tharp of North Carolina; and a very special friend, Loreta Fowler of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Bruce Tharp; and a brother, William E. Tharp.
Arlene was born July 4, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of William Bruce and Ruth Arlene (Pinch) Tharp. She retired from Goodwill Industries, after over 20 years of service, and was involved in the ARC of Eastern Iowa. She was dearly loved and will be missed by her family and friends.
A memorial fund has been established in Arlene's memory.
