Shirley Mae Mittan, 74, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, June 13, 2016, at her home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Fred (Kathy) Mittan of West Union, Ed (Kris) Mittan of Cedar Rapids and Richard (Melanie) Mittan of North Carolina; daughters, Deb (T.J. Struchen) Mullen of Cedar Rapids and Candy Struchen of Cedar Rapids; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Bob Bemer; twin sister, Sharon (Bob); and sister, Pat Matson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Al Bemer; and sister, Myra.
Shirley was born Sept. 6, 1941, in Covington, the daughter of Louis and Almyra Fulton Bemer, and graduated from Palo High School. She loved flowers, the Iowa Hawkeyes and adored spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed.
