Rethmeier, Duane E.
Duane E. Rethmeier, 80, of Manchester, died Saturday, June 11, 2011. Funeral services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Earlville. Visitation: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday before the service at the funeral home. Burial: Fairview Cemetery, Earlville.
Duane has born Aug. 6, 1930, in Hawkeye, Iowa, the son of August and Lillian (Hutsteadler) Rethmeier. On Sept. 19, 1953, he was united in marriage to Darlene Murray. Duane was a jack-of-all-trades. He was a friend to all and enjoyed playing pool and cards.
Survivors included his wife, Darlene; children, Edward Rethmeier, San Francisco, Calif., Amey (David) Potter, Austin, Texas, Susan (Julio) Medina, San Francisco, Diana Rethmeier, Manchester, and Christiana (Carlos) Angiano, Daly City, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents, August and Lillian Rethmeier; a daughter, Cathy Karl; and siblings, Arlene, Caroline, Viola, Freddy, August “Bud” and Russell.
A memorial fund has been established.
