Donna Mae McGurk, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully at home surrounded by her children on Monday, Oct. 1, 2018. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Friday, St. Jude Catholic Church, by the Rev. Mark Murphy. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. A vigil service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family following the vigil until 8 p.m., and after 9 a.m. on Friday at the church.
Donna is survived by her children, Mary Pat (Curt) Imerman of Knoxville, Tenn., Michael (Julie) McGurk of Ammon, Idaho, Roxann (Terry) Repstien of Amana and Terrance (Becky) McGurk of Aurora, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis, on July 27, 1992; one brother; and three sisters.
Donna was born on July 8, 1928, in Williamsburg, the daughter of Harry and Nellie Conrad Langlas, and graduated from Marengo High School in 1946. On June 18, 1948, she married Francis McGurk at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Marengo. Donna was a secretary for the Linn County Sherriff's Department for many years. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.
Donna loved volunteering at Mercy Medical Center, accruing 12,333 hours of service, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
