CENTRAL CITY - Jonn Betzer, a write-in candidate who wasn't even registered to vote, defeated an incumbent in the election for the Central City School board.
“It's pretty unusual,” Auditor Joel Miller said.
Not being registered to vote didn't disqualify Betzer from running for office, Miller said.
Betzer defeated David Goodlove for one of three open spots on the school board. He earned 58 votes as a write-in candidate, compared to 42 for Goodlove.
Challenger Shelly Wurzer-Kellog and incumbent Neil Matthias were also elected to the Central City school board.
