Elliott, James R.
James R. Elliott, 79, of Marion, died of cancer Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at the home of his daughter in Cedar Rapids. Graveside services will be held at noon Saturday, Sept. 15, at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Iowa Cremation is in charge of arrangements,
Survivors include two daughters, Becky (Sean) Elliott of Cedar Rapids and Brenda (Chad) Bond of Marion; a son, Robert of Hiawatha; two sisters, Rose Elliott of Cedar Rapids and Jean McInerney of Anamosa; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim was born Oct. 29, 1932, in Waukon, the son of Cyril and Helen Howes Elliott. He was a master millwright and worked through Local 2158. Jim was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and proudly served in the Air Force.
He enjoyed working on cars, reading, relaxing on his acreage and especially the time spent with his beloved family and many friends.
