Jennifer Rae Koenighain was born Oct. 16, 1989, in Little Rock, Ark., to Leon and Marilyn Koenighain. She attended Trinity Lutheran School and Kennedy High School, where she graduated in 2008. She attended the University of Northern Iowa for two years, then moved closer to home (per Leon's request) to attend Mount Mercy College, graduating in Communications in 2012. Jen worked for MediRevv for several years, and most recently worked as a supervisor of patients' accounts at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. A selfless person, Jen enjoyed volunteering, especially for the Cedar Valley Humane Society. Her love of dogs extended to her Shiba Inu, Mika. She was a vegetarian and loved to cook - especially pasta - and even learned to cook chicken
for Steve. Jen loved trying new things, and was incredibly adventurous. Anything she chose to do, she did wholeheartedly.
Jen was a wonderful daughter, girlfriend, sister, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Cedar Valley Humane Society or the University of Iowa Children's Hospital in honor of Jen.
