Obey rules of the road to save lives

To the editor:
To 'pro-life” lawmakers and religionists. Are you actively and aggressively trying to:
1. Set the speed limit back to 55 mph on our interstates and expressways?
2. Get speed and red light cameras at every road and intersection?
3. Get working speed limit governors on big rig trucks?
4. Outlaw texting and phone use while driving?
5. Get a leash on police who kill nondangerous, non-attacking citizens who are running the other direction or only carrying a pop can or telephone, or billfold, or in a surrender mode?
6. Stop cruelty to animals?
7. Oppose the death penalty?
Why doesn't the 'sanctity of life” apply to any of the above? The Bible is archaic. There's nothing in it to say you cannot drive your machine as fast as it will go. The writers didn't foresee a time when everyone uses a deadly machine, capable of killing others, when traveling.
