Larry J. Pinter, 75, of Delmar, died Saturday
afternoon, June 21, 2014, at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport.
Larry John Pinter was born June 24, 1938, to Victor and Agnes (Kaczinski) Pinter, in rural Grand Mound, Iowa. He was a 1956 graduate of Grand Mound Consolidated School. Larry was united in marriage to Karen Ruggeberg on Sept. 14, 1958, at Ss Philips and James Catholic Church in Grand Mound. He served in the National Guard for six years. Over the years, Larry worked for Dairy Pak, farmed north of Bleidorn and finally retired in 2003, after working 12 years at L&P Painting.
Larry enjoyed playing cards, the Cubs and fishing with his family and friends. He loved his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Karen; children, Mark (Liz) Pinter of Lowden, Scott (Mary) Pinter, Danny Pinter and Andy (Erin) Pinter, all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Cassandra, Josh (Kacy), Jerry, Kyle and Alyssa Pinter, Nick Wolfe and Amber Pinter and Keagan, Jake and Brady Pinter; great-grandchildren, Bryson and Addison Pinter; his mother, Agnes Pinter of Wheatland; siblings, Gary (Janet) Pinter and Donna Pinter; sister-in-law, Audrey Ruggeberg; and nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Victor.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Vicar Martha Harrison will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Mound.
