French, Jean Elizabeth
Jean Elizabeth French, 84, formerly of Wyoming, passed away Wednesday, Dec 14, 2011 at the Monticello Care Facility following a courageous battle with cancer.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2011 at the Wyoming Cemetery in Wyoming. A Celebration of Life from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Memorial Hall in Wyoming will follow the graveside services. Thoughts, memories and condolences may be left at . Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa is handling the arrangements.
Jean is survived by seven children: Kay (Randy) Coghlan of Toddville, Michael French of Martelle, Melanie (Larry) Laughridge of Anamosa, Marla (Myron) Pentecost of Baldwin, Carla (Moe) Pentecost of Anamosa, Richard French of Marion, and Ricky French of Anamosa; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Walter and Wayne Nelson; and two special family friends, Cathy Wheeler of Cedar Rapids and Brenda Hagen of Marion. Preceding Jean in death were her loving husband of over 50 years, Lumyr; her parents, Fred and Katherine Nelson; two sisters, Charlotte Dose and Marge McCalmant; one infant granddaughter, and two infant grandsons.
Jean belonged to the Rebecca's. She enjoyed bingo, baking and her family and friends. She will always be remembered for all of the big hugs and smiles for everyone she met.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Hospice and the Monticello Care Facility for all they did during the final days.
