City of Washington selects Veenstra & Kimm as city engineering firm

Fox Engineering designed the City's new wastewater treatment plant that is currently under construction, and also designed several major fixes to the City's wastewater collection system.
Veenstra & Kimm was established in 1961 and has six offices serving Iowa, including a branch office in Coralville since 1996. Its main office is in West Des Moines.
Brent Hinson, the new Washington City Administrator, has worked with Veenstra & Kimm for a number of years when he was the administrator in Garner, Iowa.
There were a total of 11 engineering firms that submitted proposals for services to the City this fall. Prior to Mr. Hinson assuming his administrator position, the City Council decided to eliminate the City Engineer staff position that had existed for several decades.
