Borrett, Ronald Dale
Ronald Dale Borrett, 89, a resident of Linn Manor Care Center in Marion, died there Monday, Dec. 21, 2009. Services: 1 p.m. Saturday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Al Christopherson. The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Private Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Corinne; three children, Nathan (Robin) Borrett of Marion, Candace Eichacker of Marion, and Joel (Joan) Borrett of Waterloo; and two grandsons, Phillip (Jennifer) Borrett and Jason (Erin) Borrett.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Raymond, Russell, and Ralph, (who died in infancy).
Ron was born June 15, 1920, the son of James and Lottie (Minger) Borrett in Garber. He graduated from Elkport High School in 1938 and attended trade school. On April 2, 1941, he married Corinne E. Smith in Manchester. Ron served as a medic with the U.S. Army during World War II under General George S. Patton. He worked as a Lab Technician for 21 years at Rockwell Collins, then the University of Iowa, and retired from Square D in 1985. Ron was in attendance at Gospel Hall in Marion.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy in Ron's memory.
