Kenneth Wayne Rouw, 73, of Boulder City, Nev., passed away Jan. 23, 2014.
He was born in Pella,
Iowa, on Aug. 4, 1940, to
William and Evelyn Rouw. He attended Pella
Christian School, where he excelled at sports. He still holds many scoring and
rebounding records there. He received a scholarship to play basketball at the University of Iowa. He
married Noreen Gerdes in Las Vegas, Nev., on April 13, 1983. In 1986, they moved to Las Vegas from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and in 1988, moved to Boulder City. He was a builder of custom homes and was a master craftsman. He took great pride in his work.
Ken was a sports enthusiast and especially enjoyed watching baseball, football and basketball. He was a huge fan of his beloved Iowa Hawkeyes, his alma mater. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing Blackjack with his buddies, Richard at the
Hacienda and Sean at Railroad Pass.
He had a strong faith in the Lord. He was beloved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
Ken is survived by his wife, Nori Rouw of Boulder City, Nev.; three sons, Tim Rouw of Cedar Rapids, Todd (Danielle) Rouw of Omaha, Neb., and Tom
(Melinda) Rouw of Atkins; seven grandchildren, Mackenzie, Alexa, Olivia, Zachary, Samantha, Alan and Jasmine; two brothers, Albert (Anna Mae) Rouw and Marvin (Bonnie) Rouw; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be at a later date in Pella.
