Edaburn, Floyd L.
Floyd L. Edaburn, 82, of Hiawatha, passed away Sept. 14, 2010, at Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids. Per Floyd's wishes, no visitation or services will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Iowa Cremation.
Surviving are his wife, Lois; daughters, Alicia Edaburn of Hiawatha and Lezlie Edaburn; grandchildren, John, Josh, Madison and Kalin; as well as several nieces and nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alvin; and sisters, Lorraine and Marion.
Floyd was born Jan. 19, 1928, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Earnest A. and Gladys M. (Foster) Edaburn. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. He was united in marriage to Lois A. Readnour on Jan. 8, 1955, in Cedar Rapids. He was employed as a railroad conductor at the Rock Island Railway and later the Iowa Northern Railway. He was a member of the Order of Railroad Conductors. He enjoyed photography, camping, fishing, and above all time spent with his family.
Memorial donations may be directed to St. Luke's Hospice.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staffs of Northbrook Manor Care Center and St. Luke's Hospice for their caring and compassionate care.
