Bauck, William D.
William D. Bauck, 89, of 858 Spires Dr., Dubuque, died at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, at home, from natural causes, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Church of the Nativity, Dubuque, with the Rev. Gross officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque. To celebrate William's life, friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the church. Behr Funeral Home in Dubuque is in charge of arrangements.
William was born Aug. 18, 1922, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Harry W. and Mathilda (Blickensdoerfer) Bauck. He married his childhood sweetheart, DeLores M. Klein, on Jan. 19, 1946, at St. Mary's Church in Dubuque. She died June 10, 2004. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as a radio operator.
Bill's greatest joy was to be with his family.
Survivors include his daughter, LouAnn I. Bauck of Dubuque; his son, John J. “Jay” Bauck of Cedar Rapids; a niece and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and three brothers and their spouses: Milton (Lucille) Bauck, Howard (Marianne) Bauck and the Rev. Herbert (Genevieve) Bauck.
