To the editor:
I hear people complain about all the politicking in Iowa and I am in disbelief. We are fortunate to be able to talk with, and question, the candidates as they cross our state. I have a vision and have made a partial list of what is important to me:
Immigration and refugees: I have a heart, but God gave me a brain, also.
Entitling: The one thing everyone is entitled to is life. Abortion should not be an 'everyday normal” occurrence.
Education: 21st Century education that includes basic classes, as well as technology.
Health care: Care for people without causing them bankruptcy.
Social Security and Medicare: Make changes immediately to keep it viable.
Spending and taxes: The billions and (trillions) of dollars of debt needs to be reined in from top down.
Government: Family, not government, is the most important institution in our society.
May we, the thankful, free people of the United States of America, and our leaders, help our country to once again, become the most caring, moral, bravest and strongest country and leader in the world.
In my thought process and in meeting many of the candidates, Marco Rubio is my choice.
May I suggest you start exploring what you want in the next president, in this new century, and take advantage of Iowa's many candidates' stops.
