Conley, Dona M. Busch

Dona M. Busch Conley, 85, of Mount Vernon, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at the Mechanicsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a short illness. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8, at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon, by Paster Slaton. Dona's family will greet friends from 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Private graveside services will be Tuesday at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville.

Dona is survived by her husband, Melvin; two sons, Dean (Tamara Dirks) and Loren (Roxanna), a daughter, Linda (Daniel) Gaines, and a special friend, Rambo, all of Mount Vernon; three grandchildren, Melissa Beachel, Marion, and Mike Conley and Kurt Gaines, both of Mount Vernon. Dona is also survived by two brothers, Carl Busch, Blairstown, and Arthur Busch, Omaha; and special friends, Claire and Sadie Stabenow, Mechanicsville.

Preceding Dona in death were her parents, and two nephews, Dennis and Charles Busch.

Dona was born May 17, 1925, in Cedar County, the daughter of Charles and Zilla (Gunn) Busch. She graduated from Martelle High School, where she excelled in sports.

Dona's favorite hobbies were bowling, the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Cubs. She was very willing to help anybody, and was a friend to all.

Dona will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Dona's honor has been established.
