Ollie Lacy Killgore, 92, of Hiawatha, died Monday, July 21, 2014, at his home in Hiawatha. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 25, at Murdoch-Linwood Fun-eral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, conducted by Chaplain Christine Wagner-Hecht. Family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery,
Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne; daughters, Mary (Dennis) Corderman, Kay (Dennis) Baldridge and Ruth (Darold) Laackmann; stepson, Ed Landuyt; grandchildren, John (Maridee) Corderman, Joe Baldridge and Cate (Matt) Konicek; stepgrandson, Jeremy Landuyt; great-grandchildren, Morgan and Madeline Corderman and Maximus Konicek; and siblings, Doris Laughlin and Charles W. Killgore.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maxine R. Killgore;
brother, Ed Killgore; and parents.
Ollie was born Nov. 4, 1921, in Branson, Colo., the son of Levi and Willie V. (West) Killgore. He served in the Navy from 1942 to 1945, on a troop transport in World War II. Ollie married Maxine R. Weidemann on June 6, 1945. Maxine passed away in 1994. He married Jeanne Landuyt on June 29, 1996. Mr. Killgore worked as a
machinist and retired from FMC in 1983. Ollie was a member of VFW, Merkel-Bockholt Post No. 107 American Legion, ILLIAMO Airstream Club, Eastern Iowa Wood Carvers and the UAW.
Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospital Hospice, or the American Cancer
Society.
