Levsen, Max H.
Max H. Levsen, 90, of Stanwood, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at Mechanicsville Nursing Home, Mechanicsville. Family and close friends will celebrate his life at a graveside service at Olin Cemetery. Lahey Funeral & Cremation Services in Olin is in charge of arrangements.
Max was born Nov. 2, 1921, in rural Olin, Iowa, to Carl and Amanda (Lorenzen) Levsen. He graduated from Olin High School. He farmed many years with his father and family members. He also was in partnership with his brother, Louis, operating the Levsen Truck Line, hauling livestock.
Max had volunteered with the Iowa Soybean Association and Stanwood Ambulance. He was a member of Stanwood Lions Club, Olin Masonic Lodge Ancient Landmark 200 and the Cedar Valley Astronomers.
He is survived by one sister, Hilda Goldsmith of Martelle; and 15 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lois Ruther; two brothers, Louis and Edward; and one nephew.
