Chamberlin, Cleve Edward
Cleve Edward Chamberlin, 60, of Stanwood, passed away suddenly Monday, March 12, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be Thursday, March 15 from 4 to 7 p.m., with funeral services on Friday, March 16 at 1 p.m., both at Morgan Funeral Home and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon Chapel, with Mary Morgan officiating. Burial at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the Bridge Community Bank, Mechanicsville, or may be directed to the Stanwood Fire Department, Stanwood, Iowa.
Cleve was born Sept. 19, 1951, in Cedar Rapids to Gerald “Boots” and Velma (Harness) Chamberlin. He attended school in Olin. He worked with his dad at Universal Engineering in Cedar Rapids. He drove for Vant Transfer of Minneapolis, Minn. He also worked for Weitz Construction for many years and was a member of the Carpenter's Local 308. He most recently worked part-time as a bartender at Thirsty on 30 in Stanwood.
Survivors include his children, Cleve Edward Jr. “Eddie” Chamberlin of La Crosse, Wis., Scott (Tessa) Chamberlin of Stratford, Iowa, and Ginny Chamberlin of Mechanicsville; his mother, Velma Chamberlin; and three brothers, Mike Chamberlin and Joe (Nancy) Chamberlin of Olin, and Rob (Christy) Chamberlin of Solon; and a grandson, Michael of Stratford. He was very fond of his nieces and nephews and was blessed with many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Daniel; his father, Gerald; and two brothers, Dennis and Kenny.
