Rudd, Dora Louise (Johnson)
Dora Louise (Johnson) Rudd, 90, of Central City, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha after living a long and happy life. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, in Central City, by R.G. Prucha. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Graveside Service: 2 p.m. Thursday, Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville.
Survivors include her children, Judy (Al) Heims of Marion, Sally (John) Loughren of Central City, and Sam (Elizabeth) Rudd of Sac City; daughter-in-law Marcia Fiser of Central City; four sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Archie; two sons, Joey in infancy, and Gary; and siblings, Cecil, Lee, Willard, Oscar, LaVerne and John Johnson, Doris Niles and Mary Lou Clifford.
Louise was born May 23, 1920, in Mechanicsville, the daughter of Frank and Myrtle (Boyd) Johnson. She graduated as the salutatorian from Mechanicsville High School in 1938. On August 19, 1939, she was united in marriage to Archie Rudd in Wapello, Iowa. They resided in the Buchanan-Mechanicsville area until moving to Central City in 1947. Louise worked at Collins Radio beginning in 1958, and retiring after 23 ½ years.
