Huffman, Rudolph 'Rudy' N.
Rudolph “Rudy” N. Huffman, 67, of Mechanicsville, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at home. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at First United Methodist Church, Mechanicsville, by Pastor Barbara Krueger. Burial: Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville, with military honors by American Legion Post 306. Visitation: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the church, with Masonic services at 5 p.m. Arrangements with Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence.
Born Nov. 23, 1945, in Anamosa, Iowa, the son of Raymond and Genevieve (Hollingsworth) Huffman, he married Inis Svoboda on April 26, 1975, in Mechanicsville. She died in 2003.
Rudy was a graduate of Lay Ministry School, a certified Lay speaker and also a Lay leader for Emmaus.
He loved bowling and fishing and was very active in his church. He was a member of the Mechanicsville American Legion Post 306, a former master of Freemont Masonic Lodge 616 in Stanwood and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include his mother, Genevieve of Wheatland; two daughters, Jennifer (Steve) Gaunt of Tipton and Kimberly (Christopher) Potter of Mechanicsville; granddaughters, Alexis Potter and Aleah Potter; brothers, Robert of Mount Vernon, Raymond (Dorothy) of Cedar Rapids and Roger (Pearl) of Clarence; sisters, Millie (Wilbert) Muhs of Lowden and Mary of Cedar Rapids; mother-in-law Arlene Svoboda of Mechanicsville; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, wife, father-in-law, and other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
