Letter: Rod Blum wrong to call for recession
Evan Yeats
Apr. 6, 2016 1:00 am
On March 21, Congressman Rod Blum posted on Facebook and Twitter that 'DC needs a recession,” while posting a picture of construction in Washington.
As a native of Mount Vernon, I'm embarrassed by Congressman Blum's comments. I live in Washington, D.C. with my wife and son and are raising a family. I've always considered myself an Iowan, despite living elsewhere, and it's mortifying to think that Congressman Blum thinks that job losses and economic misfortune should befall my family or other families here in the District.
I don't wish misfortune on the residents of my home state, community or congressional district - it's too bad that Congressman Blum thinks bad things should happen to me.
