Letter: Hopeful lawmakers can end abortions

In the Feb. 28 Gazette, there was a statement under the front-page picture about a Senate subcommittee that was discussing 'a bill that would make life begin at conception.” Don't they know that it is not possible for a bill to 'make life begin at conception”? Life always has begun at conception. That is and has been a scientific fact. A new human person comes into existence at the moment of conception. Nothing can change that. The only thing a law can do is provide the protection for that new person that all humans deserve.
I hope that our legislators can accomplish that and put an end to the business of aborting these little humans.
