ADAMS, Neb. (AP) - A 17-year-old car driver has died in a collision with a pickup driven by her 15-year-old sister in southeast Nebraska.
Gage County Sheriff Millard "Gus" Gustafson says the accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. Monday, about three miles west of Adams.
According to Beatrice radio station KWBE, Gustafson says Gabrielle Matthes, of Adams, was driving her car east on Birch Road when she crested a hill and collided with a westbound pickup driven by her sister, Megan Matthes.
Gustafson says Gabrielle was flown to a BryanLGH Medical Center West in Lincoln, where she died. Megan Matthes and a passenger in her truck, 16-year-old Katlyn Beu (KAYT'-lihn BEE'-yu), also of Adams, were taken to the hospital.
The collision is being investigated. It occurred less than a mile from the Matthes girls' home.
