Fetters, Doris Mae
Doris Mae Fetters, 84, of Iowa City, died Sunday, August 7, 2011, at Briarwood Health Care Center in Iowa City. The family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Lensing Funeral Service in Iowa City. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Gail Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Doris M. Fetters Memorial Fund.
Born Oct. 16, 1926, in Tiffin, Doris was the daughter of Andrew and Minnie (Wagner) Pierce. She attended the Commission of the Blind in Des Moines. She held a passion for dancing and music - ready in an instant to hit the dance floor.
She lived in Iowa City most of her life. Doris worked at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in housekeeping for several years and also cleaned homes in the Iowa City area.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy Papich of Coralville; son-in-law, Michael Papich of Coralville; granddaughters, Heather (David) Walles of Des Moines, Marsha Papich, Angwenda Papich and Stephanie Papich, all of Coralville; two great-grandchildren, Noah Walles and Grace Walles; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one sister.
