Simms, Lee Ann (McHone) Robbs
Lee Ann (McHone) Robbs Simms passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at home in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at River Community Church, 3001 Muscatine Ave., Iowa City. Burial will be Friday afternoon in Ames Municipal Cemetery, Ames, Iowa.
Memorials may be directed to the Lee Ann Simms Memorial Fund.
Lansing Funeral Service in Iowa City is handling arrangements.
Lee Ann was born in Davenport, Iowa, on July 13, 1945, to F.L. (Bud) and Ruth McHone. After earning her Masters from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, she served 30 years with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, retiring in 2006.
Lee Ann is survived by her husband, Edwin Simms; and five brothers and sisters, Larry and Murray McHone, Meredith Pierce, Jill Cory and Robin Hundt; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Robbs; parents; and sister, Judy in childhood.
