Crouse, Betty L.
Betty L. Crouse, 78, of Cedar Rapids, lost her battle with ALS “Lou Gehrig's” disease on Dec. 7, 2013, and passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Betty graduated from Oelwein High School in June 1953 and married Lyle Crouse in August 1953. Lyle and Betty resided and raised their family in Cedar Rapids.
Betty relocated to Houston, Texas in 1980 and returned home in 2012.
Betty is survived by her brothers, Benjamin Crooks of Marshalltown and George Uchytil (Rosalyn) of Jesup; a sister, Lola Renner of Cedar Rapids; her children, Randy (Rhonda) Crouse and Karen Pierce, both of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Rachelle Salem of Denver, Colo., Brooke (Steve) Wulfekuhle of Cedar Rapids, Steve Hall of North Liberty and Tasha (Doug), Tonia and Calvin Pierce, all of Cedar Rapids; and six wonderful great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter, Sharon Crouse.
A private prayer service and Celebration of Life with the immediate family will be held Dec. 11.
