Buscher, Francis A.

Francis A. Buscher, 81, of 4407 Loraine St. NE, passed away Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, in St. Luke's Hospital. Memorial services, with military honors, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may register at the chapel after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include a son, Michael (Leslie) Buscher of Olin; daughter, Sherry (Gary) Trumpold of Marion; grandson, Jamie Trumpold of Marion; and his best friend, Bettie Hansen of Marion.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Francis was born Aug. 15, 1929, in Anamosa, to Glen and Nellie (Osterkamp) Newhard. He married Virginia “Ginny” Chance on Nov. 4, 1951, in Winfield, Iowa. She died Sept. 26, 1990. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed at W.R. Grace & Co., Cryovac, as a process superintendent.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes, and going to the casinos. He was a member of Marion American Legion Post 298.
