Fite, Bud F.
Bud F. Fite, 75, of Marion, died Saturday, June 15, 2013, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, following a courageous battle with colon cancer. Graveside memorial service: 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, at Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, by Chaplain Christine Wagner-Hecht.
Bud is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Shirley; his children, Terry (Sandy) Fite of Marion and Peggy Fite of Cedar Rapids; his siblings, Lee (Kim) Fite of Oskaloosa, Bob Fite of Delta, Beatrice Fite of Shueyville, Judy (Merle) Kelley of Cedar Rapids and Deanna (Robert) Schminkey of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Chris (Mindy) Lauderdale of Cedar Rapids and Cara (Dave) Eberle of Cedar Rapids; five great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Robert.
Bud was born Oct. 11, 1937, the son of Frederick and Hazel (Brack) Fite, in Cedar Rapids. He was united in marriage to Shirley Anderson on April 20, 1963, in Cedar Rapids. Bud retired from Cryovac as a supervisor in the shipping department. He was a United States Navy veteran.
