Clark, Fern
Fern Clark, 94, of Marion, formerly of Charles City, passed away with her family by her side at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha, Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011.Memorial Service: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7121 Mount Vernon Rd. SE, Cedar Rapids. Burial will be in Osage Cemetery, Osage, at a later date. Arrangements are by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include her children, Bonnie (Duane) Martin, Kay Rosenwinkle, Sandra (Dennis) Peterson and Roger (Connie) Clark; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Wallingford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters; three brothers; one grandson, Jerry Clark; and her husband.
Fern was born July 13, 1916, in Unionville, Iowa, the daughter of James “J.C.” and Ora (Bain) Whisler. Fern was united in marriage to Wilson Clark on March 21, 1935, in Cresco. The couple divorced after 28 years of marriage. She was a homemaker while raising her children and owned and operated the Clark Nursing Home in Greene, Iowa. Fern was a very dedicated servant sharing Bible truths for the past 37 years. Her family and strong faith were foremost in her life.
