Coder, Beth Ann
MARION - Beth Ann Coder, 70, of Willow Gardens, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, following a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at First Assembly of God, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Rick Gail. Friends may visit after 10 a.m. at the church. Teahen Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, is serving the family.
Beth is survived by her husband, James; two sons, Michael (Michelle) of Cedar Rapids and Marcus (Lynn) of Copperas Cove, Texas; eight grandchildren, Joshua (Savannah) Coder of Mobile, Ala., Brandi Coder of Atlanta, Ga., and Michaela, Josiah, Gloria, Matthew, Jeffrey and Amurie Coder, all of Cedar Rapids; three sisters, Aleta (Glenn) Futrell of Hampton, Arlene (Russ) Edwards of Granite City, Ill., and Amie (Paul) Womachka of Cedar Rapids; five brothers, Leeon Baldwin of Cedar Rapids, Arnold (Mary Beth) Baldwin of Beloit, Ill., Gary (Helen) Baldwin of Lafayette, Ore., Larry Baldwin of Fresno, Calif., and Dale (Mari) Baldwin of Finksburg, Md.; and many nieces and nephews.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jane (Cliff) Seibert; an infant brother, Alan Lon; and an infant sister, Ada Lois.
Beth was born Dec. 24, 1939, at home in Waubeek, Iowa, the daughter of Leeon and Marie Taylor Baldwin. he married James Coder on July 5, 1959, at the Christian Church in Coggon. She attended Atkins Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church until moving to Marion.
Beth had a strong character and will which was proved by the fact that she lived with multiple sclerosis for over 50 years.
Beth was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a smile and a kind word for everyone she met.
Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
