Is the U.S. President above our laws?

Donald Trump belongs to the world of the rich and famous. He thinks he is above the law.
As president, he wants no restrictions placed on his authority to govern. That's why he's ordered the White House not to turn over documents to the Congress and ordered his aides to ignore subpoenas to testify before congressional committees.
Trump is obstructing Congress from performing oversight. He is attacking and trying to dismantle the legislative branch of our government. Republicans in the Senate will not challenge him because they have made a deal with the devil to protect him no matter what.
Attorney General Bill Barr testified Trump can stop any investigation of himself if he says he isn't guilty. Barr is telling us the president is above the law.
I thought nobody was supposed to be above the law, not even the president. I guess we only need the executive branch and the president to run the country. Everyone else might as well go home.
Our country is heading for a constitutional crisis. We are losing our democracy because of a president I believe is compromised by Russia. But I don't blame Trump, I blame the people who voted for him.
The tragedy of Trump is that he was able to convince voters to abandon their values and overlook his disgusting behavior. I hope they won't be so foolish as to do it again.
