Making sense of politics is a challenge

Sad to say, but I've grown two ways in recent months.

First is that I've grown sick. I'm ill about an elected administration led by a seemingly uninformed, knee-jerk reaction person who must think that incessant tweeting is smart and science is not. I've grown even sicker when brewing scandals trump actual legislation on real health care and tax reform, infrastructure improvements, among other actual things that might impact real people. And sicker still at the silence and lack of leadership of local federal electeds.

The other way I've grown recently is almost worse. I've grown tired. Tired of alleged cable news for whom this governmental chaos is but a big moneymaker. I'm tired of superficial journalism and of people who to this day say nothing is amiss.

Politics these days is so embarrassing that continuing to try to make sense of it makes me so tired that I want to simply walk away.

If we truly believe we live in a democracy, we need to be informed and participatory, not sick and tired.

I hope I can feel better soon.
