Mollenhauer, Ruby Joan
Ruby Joan Mollenhauer, 74, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at her home, with her family by her side. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, at St. James United Methodist Church. The Rev. Beth Straw will officiate, with private family burial in Lafayette Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence Mollenhauer; children, Darlene Huston of Cedar Rapids, Julie Fife of Des Moines, Clarence Mollenhauer Jr. of University Place, Wash., Lori Sykes of Marengo and Marsha Reihmann of High Amana; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six sisters, Gladys Snethen of Cedar Rapids, Arlene Robinson of Hagerstown, Md., Dorothy Snethen of Cedar Rapids, Mary Pederson of Monticello, Caroline Lala of Center Point and Mildred Boland of Phoenix; and two brothers, Cleve Coberly of Center Point and John Coberly of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, George “Arnold” Coberly.
Ruby was born March 28, 1935, in Coggon, the daughter of George and Inez (Vredenburg) Coberly. She married Clarence L. Mollenhauer on Feb. 27, 1955, in Cedar Rapids. She worked for Bishops in Cedar Rapids as a receptionist and for Pickwick Corporation of Cedar Rapids. Ruby was a member of the Cedar Rapids St. James United Methodist Church and the Pythian Sisters of Center Point.
Ruby was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mollenhauer family.
