Huston, Paul D.
Paul D. Huston, 91, of Wyoming, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, at Clarence Nursing Home, Clarence, following a brief illness. A celebration of his life will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, at the Wyoming United Methodist Church, Wyoming, Iowa, with Shepherd Karmen Jamison officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lahey Funeral Home in Wyoming. Burial will be in the Wyoming Cemetery.
Paul D. Huston was born Feb. 5, 1919, on the family farm in Hale, Iowa, to Clarence and Lucy (Dodge) Huston. He attended country school and graduated from Wyoming High School in 1936. He married Anna Marie Nowachek on Dec. 17, 1941, in Wyoming. She died April 19, 2007.
Paul was a guard at the Anamosa Reformatory and farmed all of his life on the family farm in Wyoming.
He was a member of the Wyoming United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, farming, bowling, playing cards with his family and friends and had a love for animals.
He is survived by three sons, Verlon (Karen) Huston of Delhi, and Dennis (Phyllis) Huston and Clifton Huston of Wyoming; one daughter-in-law, Marcia Huston of Wyoming;
12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Huston of Wapello, and Rosalie Westbrook of Denver, Colo.; a brother-in-law, Robert (Algean) Nowachek of Oxford Junction; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a son, Richard; an infant grandson; three sisters and two brothers.
Memorial may be given to the Wyoming United Methodist Church.
