Letter: New laws needed to fix legal system
Dennis Burrier
Nov. 27, 2017 12:00 am
I can't understand why we can spend thousands of dollars on each prisoner in jail and on death row, but we can't find funding for the physically and mentally ill patients (veterans especially) who need housing and medical assistance.
Our state and federal politicians are more concerned about pleasing their lobbyists and getting re-elected than serving the people they are elected to represent.
I hope all the voters in 2018 will take the time to get informed (for once) and do the right thing and demand new laws that correct our pathetic legal system.
