Margery Edith Reinertsen Czaikowski Jansen

Margery Jansen, daughter of Ethel and PD Reinertsen, was born Sept. 7, 1930, in Lewistown, Ill. She passed away March 13, 2011, at Wesley Acres in Des Moines, with her family at her side.

Marge graduated from Canton, Ill., High School, Augustana College at Rock Island, Ill., in medical technology and the University of Wisconsin in library sciences. Her career was spent at the University of Iowa as the dental librarian. Her last year was spent in Des Moines near her daughter, Kris.

For many years, Marge enjoyed her large garden, her Norwegian/Swedish heritage, being active playing the organ or singing in the choir in her church, rosemaling, knitting, doing crosswords, and she loved a good mystery novel.

Those left to honor Marge's memory are daughters, Martha (Robb) Stellmach, Kris (Kevin) Shay and Linnea Fitzpatrick; son, Andrew (Dawn) Ryan; grandchildren, Emily Harding, Julia Shay, Madeline and Louie Fitzpatrick, Kai Stellmach and Jessica and Nicholas Ryan; brothers, David (Nancy) and Raoul (Anita) Reinertsen; as well as several stepchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, George Jansen.

A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Urbandale, with visitation before the service, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels or the donor's choice.
