James F. "Jim" Leaven, 64, of Iowa City, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015, at Solon Nursing Care Center.
His family extends a warm invitation to share food, drink and memories on Saturday, July 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the American Legion, 3016 Muscatine Ave., Iowa City.

Jim was born in Chicago on Jan. 18, 1951. He moved to Iowa City, where he attended the University of Iowa and earned his MBA. He married Mary Fitzpatrick on April 14, 1990, and shared the rest of his life with her. He worked at the University of Iowa, retiring from Sponsored Programs.
Jim is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Alex Leaven of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and sister-in-law, Kathy Fitzpatrick.
