Clement, Margaret Louise
Margaret Louise Clement, 87, of Richmond, Va., formerly of Waterloo and Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at Westport Health Care Center in Richmond. Committal services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball in Waterloo, with burial at the Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was born in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Cleveland H. and Marian Louise Francis Pedersen. She married Dean Edward Clement on Oct. 7, 1950, in Waterloo; he preceded her in death on May 17, 1984. She was a homemaker and in her later years worked at Younkers Department Store. She graduated from Waterloo West High and attended Iowa State University. She was a member of the PEO, DAR, and was a Bluebird and Campfire girl leader.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda L. Clement and husband Owen M. Dewing of Austin, Texas, Jan P. Clement and husband James Bryant of Richmond, Va., and Sharon C. Spader of Albuquerque, N.M.; sister-in-law, Helen Pedersen of Waterloo; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carmen and Norma Clement of Clarinda; and beloved nieces and nephews in Iowa and other states.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Francis Hubbard and Dorothy Simonsen; and two brothers, William R. “Bud” Pedersen and Robert “Bob” Pedersen.
Memorials may be directed to a hospice of the donor's choice.
