Lankow, Jack Richmond
Jack Richmond Lankow, 92, a resident in ManorCare for six years, died Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, from an extended illness. Services are pending at this time with Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Jack is survived by his wife of 60 years, DeVonna Mae; daughters, Carol Ann Ferris of Cedar Rapids, and Marcheta (George) Keller of Kingman, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his parents.
Jack R. Lankow was born Jan. 10, 1920, in Aurora, Ill., the son of Bruce and Gladys (Richmond) Lankow. Jack served in the National Guard and the Air Force during World War II. He was married Oct. 10, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, to DeVonna Mae Schliemann. Jack worked for the Cedar Rapids Gazette in Display Advertising.
The family would like to express their gratitude to ManorCare for the outstanding care given to Jack the last several years.
