Myers, Maxine Margaret
Maxine Margaret Myers, died Monday, Oct. 11, 2010. She was born on March 5, 1920, to Bertha Graw and Jack Lindsay in Salamanca, N.Y.
She was married to Thomas L. Myers Sr. on July 12, 1942, at Fort Monmouth, N.J. Tom died in 2000.
Living relatives are sons, Tom and wife Ellie, who live in Oneida, N.Y., and Michael and Suzanne, who live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Maxine has five grandchildren, Anne Mary Myers in Oregon, Jillian Rogier in South Carolina, Paul Myers in Georgia, Brian Myers in Virginia and Mark Myers in Cedar Rapids. She also has two great-grandchildren, Logan and Madison.
Maxine spent most of her life in New York. She was employed by the Salamanca Central School District. She was president of the Ladies of Elkdale Country Club, member of the Mothers Club, member of the City of Salamanca United Way and a deacon of the Congregational Church in Salamanca.
After retirement, she and Tom lived in Largo, Fla., for 26 years where they enjoyed many activities. The last few years Maxine lived in Cedar Rapids, near her son Mike and family.
