Kurtz, Evelyn Vaye

Evelyn Vaye Kurtz, formerly of Keota, Vinton, and lately of Highland Ridge in Williamsburg, Iowa, passed into a new life on Friday, April 12, 2013, at Mercy Hospice in Iowa City.

Evelyn was born June 29, 1921, to Wayne (Perky) and Jennie (Butterbaugh) Wade in Filmore Township in Iowa County. On Jan. 30, 1940, she was united in marriage to H. Wayne Kurtz at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She was a former member of the Methodist Church and the Rebekah's of North English.

She is survived by two sisters, Belva Yoss and Hazel (Glen) Cobb of North English; daughters, Su (Doug) Wolrab of Cedar Rapids, and Kathy Rogers of Center Point; two grandsons, Kelly and Joel Rogers; and two great-granddaughters, Brexlyn and Joah Rogers. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Walter (Bud) and Harold (Stub) Wade; and son-in-law, Ted Rogers.

There will be no services at this time. A private inurnment will be at a later date.
